Baptism/Christening at St Thomas
Welcoming Sharing Transforming
We love to baptise/christen at St Thomas, simply contact the Vicar to register your interest. If you live in our parish (the parts of St Annes under the care of St Thomas), it's pretty easy to arrange one but the Vicar normally needs 2-3 months notice to negotiate a date as we are a very busy church and we prefer to have only one family per service.
We can christen older childern or adults too!
If you don't live in our parish, we have to show that St Thomas has become your chosen place of regular worship, or we are duty-bound to refer you to your local church. This need not be burdensome, but we need to have seen you at worship several times to explain christening you here, rather than where you live.
We only hold chrisenings on a Sunday within our morning service at 10:30am or more often, after it at around 12:30pm.
If your baby requires emergency baptism however, you can contact our Vicar anytime.

STEP 1
Contact your Vicar
STEP 2
Come to one of our 10:30am Sunday services (to see if you feel you will fit in - we have monthly special all-age services too, if you have other children).
Please let our vicar know when you are coming so that he can guarantee to meet you afterwards and talk about possible dates.
STEP 3
Our vicar will visit you, confirm the date, get to know you a little, and try to personalise the service.
Please note: we only hold christenings on a Sunday.
An Invitation
We’d love to hear from you and to share with you how close God is, and how much he loves you as well as your child.
